Privacy Policy

Last updated: 26 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Adcotel Private Limited (“Adcotel”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, retains and protects your personal data when you use the Adcotel website, mobile apps and services (the “Platform”). It applies to guests, hosts and visitors. We handle personal data in accordance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, the Information Technology Act, 2000 and the rules made under them.

1. Who we are

Adcotel is a marketplace that connects guests with hosts offering stays, experiences and related services. Adcotel Private Limited is the data fiduciary responsible for your personal data. Our registered office and contact details are on our Company Details page.

2. Personal data we collect

We collect the following categories of personal data:

  • Account data — name, email address, phone number, password, profile photo, and role (guest or host).
  • Booking data — the stays, experiences and services you book, dates, guest counts, and your trip history.
  • Payment data — payments are processed by our payment partner Razorpay. Adcotel does not collect or store your card, UPI or bank details; we receive only a payment confirmation and transaction reference. Hosts provide settlement bank details, of which we store only the last four digits.
  • Communications — messages you exchange with hosts or guests through the Platform (encrypted at rest), and your correspondence with our support team.
  • Content — reviews, ratings, listing descriptions and photos you submit.
  • Device & usage data — app interactions, pages viewed, IP address, device type, operating system, and push-notification tokens, collected to operate and improve the Platform.

The Platform does not access your device’s location and does not use an advertising identifier.

3. How we use your data

  • To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
  • To process bookings, payments to Adcotel, and payouts to hosts.
  • To enable communication between guests and hosts.
  • To send transactional and service notifications (booking confirmations, host messages, reminders to complete a booking or leave a review).
  • To provide customer support and resolve disputes.
  • To keep the Platform safe — prevent fraud, abuse and policy violations.
  • To comply with legal, tax and accounting obligations.
  • To improve and analyse the Platform.

4. Legal bases

We process your data on the basis of your consent, to perform the contract between you and us (your bookings and use of the Platform), to comply with legal obligations, and for our legitimate interests in operating a safe and functional marketplace. You may withdraw consent at any time (see “Your rights” below); doing so does not affect processing already carried out.

5. How your data is shared

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only as needed:

  • Between guests and hosts — once a booking is made, the guest and host see the information needed to complete the stay (e.g. name and the messages you send each other).
  • Payment processor — Razorpay, to take payments and settle host payouts.
  • Service providers — hosting and infrastructure providers who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations (for example, our cloud database and app-notification delivery).
  • Legal and safety — authorities, regulators or advisors where required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights and safety of users.
  • Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition or reorganisation, subject to this Policy.

6. Data retention

We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above. Account and profile data is kept while your account is active. Booking, invoice and payment records are retained for up to 8 financial years as required by Indian tax and accounting law, even after account deletion. When you delete your account we anonymise your personal data and remove data we are not required to keep (see Delete Your Account).

7. Security

All data in transit is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS. Guest↔host messages are encrypted at rest. Access to personal data is restricted to authorised personnel and services. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data.

8. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you and request a summary of it.
  • Correct or update inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Erase your data and delete your account (subject to legal retention).
  • Withdraw consent to processing.
  • Nominate another individual to exercise your rights in the event of death or incapacity.
  • Raise a grievance with our Grievance Officer.

To exercise any right, email adcoteldev@gmail.com or use the in-app options. We respond within the timelines required by law.

9. Children

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Grievance Officer

For privacy questions or complaints, contact our Grievance Officer at adcoteldev@gmail.com. Full details are on our Company Details page. We acknowledge grievances within 24 hours and aim to resolve them within 15 days.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified on the Platform or by email. The “Last updated” date above reflects the latest version.
